1.Core Theory Modules |

The core modules focus on the east and west cultural history, east and west art history, theory of esthetics, theory of culture as fundamental instruments to construct solid background knowledge as well as to develop fine culture. These core modules are also guidelines of academic research for those who intend to pursue further studies. |

2.Application Modules |
|
The object and contents of the development of cultural industries are mainly people and programs related to “culture”. Culture is life, versatile and fluid. Apart from traditionally historical culture and liberal culture, application modules also include the current life and pop cultures. How to express and apply cultures is thus a major part of the curriculum. |

3. Practical Training |
(1) |
Personality cultivation |
|
Apart from accumulating sufficient knowledge, the Department emphasizes on personality education i.e. the practice of “moral science”. For this purpose, a series of related courses including psychology, social relations, communication and negotiation, and speech communication are organized. Beside taught courses, students are required to be volunteers in the student consulting center for one year and the qualification will be deemed as partial credits of their practical training. In addition, the Department initiates the student club, “Cultural Volunteers Team”, to enable students to actively participate in community services and promoting culture. |

Business Operation |

This module includes the following topics, cultural policies and regulations, Cultural Heritage Preservation Law, art administration, intellectual property law, human resource requirement and analysis and other management courses. The purpose is to cultivate students’ ability to be independent in business operation in the future. |

Campus-off Practice |
|
The Department has agreements with national and private cultural organizations for students to do practical training. Each contracted organization also recruits experienced teachers to instruct students to orient themselves in different work places in advance and assist them to create future career plan. |
|
The above curriculum design aims to create a solid foundation on theories as well as on practice for students to carry the mission as a cultural promoter in the society. |

4. Main Equipment |
(1) |
Public Gallery/Ming Hsiu Art Center |
|
The University’s art plan has been operated formally since the preparatory period of the Department of Cultural Business and Development. The plan will be continuously carried out based on the actual funds subsided. The campus public gallery is mainly a place for education and students’ practice. The future directions of the art plan include the following three aspects. |

1. Foundation construction: to set up an artist databank for research.
2. Promotion: To promote artistic education in campus and regularly hold “research exhibition” of masters as well as seminars of related themes to enhance artistic expertise of students and further boost NCUT as a model school in the art field in Taiping area.
3. Interaction: Actively interact with domestic and international artistic organizations and masters to expand students’ horizons. |

Professional computer center |
|
The professional computer center is equipped with the APPLE system for multi-media design and display. Students thus are exposed to the actual industrial and business environment in campus and able to successfully integrate themselves with the workplace after graduation. |

Professional creativity design classroom |
|
The creativity design classroom is created after a long-term interaction with art industries. The equipment and facilities are organized and arranged in terms of practical demands and therefore enable students to utilize and practice various media tools as those applied in the actual work place. |

Multi-functional classroom |
|
The spacious and bright multi-functional classroom is equipped with large water sinks, storage cabinets, and large drawing benches. This room is a work place for paintings or posters creation or electronic teaching. This room is also open to students for creative design practice. |

Multi-functional audio room: |
|
Multi-functional audio room irregularly holds seminars, lectures, chamber music performance, movies appreciation to reinforce students’ ability in artistic appreciation. |
